The Pitcairn Islands are a British Overseas Territory in the South Pacific, famous as the refuge of the HMS Bounty mutineers. With a population of around 50 people and no airport, Pitcairn is one of the most remote inhabited places on earth. Its volcanic coastline catches powerful South Pacific swells that produce waves along rocky shores. Access is by ship only from Mangareva in French Polynesia. Water temperatures are around 21-26C. The island's Bounty history, lush vegetation, and incredible isolation make it the ultimate destination for surfers who truly want to go to the end of the earth.
