Vietnam's long coastline along the South China Sea is one of Southeast Asia's most exciting emerging surf destinations. Da Nang in central Vietnam has become the main surf hub, with long beach breaks that fire during the winter monsoon from September through March. My Khe Beach and the surrounding coast offer consistent waves and a rapidly growing local surf community. Further south, Nha Trang and Mui Ne pick up swells from different directions. The north around Ha Long Bay offers cold-water winter surf for the truly adventurous. Water temperatures range from 20C in the north during winter to 29C in the south. Vietnam's incredible cuisine, affordable prices, and the energy of a country in rapid transformation make it a compelling surf travel destination.
